We are an independent radio station broadcasting from the Netherlands, dedicated to exploring and reflecting on alternative music from Latin America. Through genres such as rock, metal, punk, ska, reggae, and more, we not only offer a diverse and authentic musical selection, but also delve into the stories, contexts, and realities surrounding these genres.
Live signal:
Latin Alternative Radio was born four years ago in Rotterdam, Netherlands, as an independent program dedicated to Latin American alternative music and the stories, cultures and realities that run through it.
Since then, the project has been sustained with great persistence and supported, at different times, by members of the Latin American community who have contributed ideas, research, production, music, and companionship. To all of them, thank you.
Our home base was Radio WORM, where the program was born and with whom we continue to share a journey as a sister project. We came from there and we're still there.
Today we take a new step: Latin Alternative Radio becomes an independent station from the Netherlands, with a production that until now has been mainly Colombian and with the participation of people from the Latin American community in Rotterdam.
Now we want to open the doors even wider: musicians, bands, podcasters, producers, collectives and festivals from all over Latin America have a space here to share their voices, their sounds and their stories.
From a program to a station. From Rotterdam to Latin America.

HELP US
From a program to a station: This story began in Rotterdam, with a radio program. In 2022, Sandra Piedrahita, a Colombian philosopher and communicator with over 30 years of experience in alternative media, created Latin Alternative Radio on Radio WORM. Since then, alternative Latin American music has been the starting point for building a space for encounter, critical thinking, and connection for the Latin American diaspora in Europe.
Philosophy, feminism, human rights, non-violence, resistance and disobedience are part of the perspective from which we understand communication.
Because this radio station wasn't born to be just another radio station. It was born from a simple conviction: that the radio station should work and that the radio station should serve a purpose.
Today we want to take a new step: to turn that program into an independent radio station from the Netherlands, open to Latin America and the world, with many more voices, programs, podcasts, music and content.
And this new stage can also be yours. You can support the project financially through our crowdfunding, but you can also participate in many other ways: contribute equipment, technical knowledge, help with the website, social media or production, offer a podcast or a program, share music, ideas, contacts or simply help us grow this community.
A radio station is built with voices, and ours can be one of them.
